From Bollywood Dancing and T’ai Chi to bridge and community singing…
We are a group of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and we meet at the Centre to engage in a wide range of activities. The Centre is very welcoming – it is open Monday to Friday, 9.30 to 5 pm: the staff are caring and supportive and the furniture is comfortable! Anyone over 50 can drop in for a cup of tea or coffee, and join in activities. These include a T’ai Chi club; bridge club; artists’ activities; hairdressing and chiropody services; visits from and outings to theatres and gardens. We have a dynamic community singing group with Gerry on the piano; we also do Bollywood dancing! There is a dynamic creative writing group who meet at the Centre every Friday morning – anyone is welcome to join in.
The Centre’s setting in Odham’s Walk is a quiet oasis where you can hear blackbirds singing in the winter.
We really value the Centre – there’s nowhere else like it in the area. We are concerned about its future and worried about its funding.
